{kāntaloha:: parīkṣā}
pātre yasya prasarati jale tailabindurna lipto hiṅgurgandhaṃ visṛjati nijaṃ tiktatāṃ nimbakalkaḥ /
pācyaṃ dugdhaṃ bhavati śikharākārakaṃ naiti bhūmau kāntaṃ lohaṃ tadidamuditaṃ lakṣaṇoktaṃ na cānyat //

A vessel of which a drop of oil does not spread upon water; smeared with which asafoetida loses its own smell and neem paste its bitterness; / milk boiled in which rises to a peak and does not spill upon the ground—that is proclaimed as kāntaloha characterized by these marks, and none other.
