aṣṭaṣaṣṭiriti proktā rasauṣadhyo mahābalāḥ /
bandhane māraṇe tadvajjāraṇe ca niyāmane /
bandhādāne ca sūtasya sarvadoṣāpakarmaṇi //

thus these sixty-eight mercurial plants of great power are declared, / for binding, killing, likewise for digestion and restraint, / in seizing the bind of mercury, and in eliminating all its defects.
