madhye tu miśrako jñeyaḥ sarvavarṇasamanvitaḥ /
bahiścandrārkācchāyo raso doṣasamanvitaḥ //

In the center, however, it should be known as mixed mercury, endowed with all colors; / externally having the luster of the moon and sun, the mercury is endowed with defects.
