gāyatrīśatam āvṛttya pathyāmevaṃ samāharet /
śuṇṭhyā vātha guḍenāpi saindhavenāthavā śivām //

Having repeated the Gāyatrī a hundred times, he should thus gather the pathyā.
Or [he takes] the auspicious [harītakī] with dried ginger, or with molasses, or with rock salt.
