antyākṣare cāntyadale mātṛkāmanulomataḥ /
lekhe ca pratilomenāṅkuśapāśāvṛtaṃ tataḥ //

On the last petal with the last syllable, one writes the mātṛkā in regular order, / and in reverse order; then it is enclosed by the goad and noose;
