vanotpalasahasrārdhaṃ kovikopari nikṣipet /
vahniṃ prajvālayettatra mahāpuṭamidaṃ smṛtam //

One should throw half a thousand wild cow-dung cakes over the crucible;
one should kindle a fire there; this is remembered as the great puṭa.
