<hemni nāgādinirvahaṇena varṇavyatyāsaḥ>
nāgajīrṇaṃ rocanābhaṃ hārītaṃ tāmravāhitam /
tīkṣṇajīrṇaṃ ravisamaṃ vaṅgajīrṇaṃ japānibham //

<Change of colour by introducing lead and other metals into gold>
[Gold] digested with lead has the splendour of yellow pigment; infused with copper, it is green; / digested with iron, it equals the sun; digested with tin, it resembles the hibiscus flower.
