āyuḥkāntibalabhraṃśakaraṃ dhātupradūṣaṇam /
nu śuddhaṃ na mṛtaṃ tāmraṃ tena saṃśodhya mārayet //
it causes loss of lifespan, luster, and strength, and corrupts the bodily tissues— / [that is,] copper that is neither purified nor killed; therefore, having purified it, one must kill it.
