auṣadhīrahitaścāyaṃ haṭhādyantreṇa badhyate
sarvatra sūtako yāti muktvā bhūdharalakṣaṇam //
Even when destitute of plants, this [mercury] is bound forcibly by the apparatus.
Mercury departs everywhere, except when it possesses the characteristics of the bhūdhara [apparatus].
