nidāghe gharmasaṃtaptā dhātusāraṃ dharādharāḥ
niryāsaṃ ca vimuñcanti tacchilājatu kīrtitam //
In summer, the mountains, heated by the heat [of the sun],
release the metallic essence of ores and resin; that is declared to be bitumen.
