śrībhairava uvāca
mahāraseṣu dviguṇas tāmrarāgaḥ sureśvari
giridoṣe kṣayaṃ nīte sūtakaṃ rañjayanti te //
The blessed Bhairava said: / In the primary minerals, the coloration of copper is twofold, O ruler of gods; / when the blemish of the mountain is destroyed, they color mercury.
