darśana-sparśana-praśnaiḥ parīkṣeta ca rogiṇam |
rogaṃ nidāna-prāg-rūpa-lakṣaṇopaśayāptibhiḥ || 22 ||
One should examine the patient by inspection, palpation, and interrogation,
and the disease by etiology, premonitory symptoms, symptoms, therapeutic tests, and pathogenesis. || 22
