nakṣatrāṇāṃ dvi-jānāṃ ca rājño 'bhūd yad ayaṃ purā |
yac ca rājā ca yakṣmā ca rāja-yakṣmā tato mataḥ || 2 ||
Because in ancient times it afflicted the king of the constellations and the twice-born, / and because it is both a king and a wasting illness, it is therefore considered rājayakṣmā. || 2
