bhedi viṣṭambhy abhiṣyandi svādu-pāka-rasaṃ guru |
vallī-phalānāṃ pravaraṃ kūṣmāṇḍaṃ vāta-pitta-jit || 88 ||
they are purgative, cause bowel distension, block channels, are sweet in post-digestive taste and taste, and heavy. / The foremost among creeper-fruits is white gourd; it conquers wind and bile.
