uṣṇena kopaṃ mandādyāḥ śamaṃ śītopasaṃhitāḥ |
śītena yuktāḥ snigdhādyāḥ kurvate śleṣmaṇaś cayam || 21 ||

combined with heat, its aggravation; and slow and other [qualities] combined with cold cause its pacification. / Unctuous and other [qualities] combined with cold cause the accumulation of phlegm;
