The diseases that arise when the doṣas reside in chyle and the other tissues
are figuratively said to be born from them, as in the case of a burn from ghee.
Likewise also the man.
And she should not lie face downward.
For in that case a male child with female behaviour or a female child with male behaviour is born.
Nor should he unite with her lying face down or on her side.
In a woman lying face down, vāta is strong and oppresses the vagina.
In one lying on her right side, kapha, oppressed and displaced, obstructs the uterus.
In one lying on her left side, likewise, pitta scorches the blood and semen.
Therefore, lying on her back, she should receive the seed.
For thus the doṣas remain only in their proper places.
In the Uttarā asterisms, relief occurs after three weeks, and in Revatī.
One should treat all fevers, except that arising from alcohol,
wearing on their limbs red arsenic, orpiment, gorocanā, agallochum, and sandalwood.
