The Veda that protects life, the Upaveda of the Atharvaveda, / with [its eight branches of] internal medicine, pediatrics, demonology, diseases above the clavicle, surgery, toxicology, rejuvenation, and virility,

Because of which fools say of a woman without a fetus that she is pregnant.

Then, when bleeding starts contrary to that or spontaneously, the ignorant, not seeing the body of the fetus, say that it has been seized by a spirit;

because the theft of vital essence by demons is possible, but not the theft of a body, due to lack of desire or lack of capacity.

For the manifestation of activity occurs through desire and capacity;

and no one's abduction of a body by non-humans is ever seen.

For that is the unmanifest symptom of a disease that is about to arise, because of its minuteness.

Having drunk [it], one should vomit with warm water, honey-water, or salt water.
