Candana, tuṅga, payasyā, sitālatā, madhuka, padmaka, and uśīra, / together with mañjiṣṭhā and sārivā: this is declared to be the complexion-enhancing group. / [It produces] throat obstruction, eructations, and diseases above the navel. / And one must endeavor so that it does not reach suppuration. / Because of its swift burning heat, it is designated an abscess. / But when it is suppurated, recovery depends on providence; and an abscess is more fast-acting than all diseases. / And when a urinary disorder is present, one should attend to the treatment of urinary disorders. / When it has become kāca, the eye is reddish and sees a face without a nose.
