yasmādṛdṣṭo yavaḥ syādurgururapyanilapradaḥ |
dīpanaṃ śītamapyājyaṃ vasoṣṇāpyagnisādinī ||
pibedikṣurasaṃ cānu jaṭharāṇāṃ nivṛttaye ||
Because barley is observed to be sweet and heavy, yet it produces wind; / clarified butter is cold, yet it kindles the digestive fire; muscle fat is hot, yet it depresses the digestive fire; / and one should drink sugarcane juice afterward for the resolution of abdominal diseases.
