Quartan fever occurs when the waste product resides in fat, marrow, or bone, any one of them;
others say it resides only in marrow; it displays its specific power.
And with other such substances, one should cook oil in fever with chills.
Prepared with a decoction of the flowers of śyāmā, atimuktā, and tarkārī,
ghee containing liquorice as a paste removes thirst, hiccup, dyspnea, and bleeding disorder.
