Moreover,

one who is excessively corpulent, excessively emaciated, weak, with poorly knit muscles, blood, and bones in his limbs, with low digestive fire, eating little, nourished on unwholesome food, or devoid of constitutional essence is incapable even of enduring the strength of a disease;

how much less could such a one endure medicine of such violence?

Therefore, one should treat such a person with medicines that do not produce distress, that are mild, pleasant, gradually heavier, and without erratic action, especially women;

for they have unsteady, soft, and timid minds, are mostly delicate, and are dependent on others;

even more especially, children.

Likewise, when the disease and patient are strong, a medicine that has weak strength or is small in quantity, being ineffective, only further aggravates the doṣa and inflames the disease.

For in this manner, moving unhindered through cleared bodily channels, wind quickly attains peace.

Inflammation of the tip of the nose, and a dry, hot, coppery, or yellow discharge of kapha [occur].
