Having heated all over a solid and flat rock surface or a piece of ground measuring a man's length or more with a fire ignited with vāta-alleviating wood, removing the fire, sprinkling it with hot water, sour liquid, and the like, and spreading a covering as prescribed, one should foment [the patient] as in bed sudation; this is solid-stone sudation. / If it is deep-seated or excessively enlarged, one should burn it with alkali or with fire. Oil cooked with turmeric, lodhra, madhuka, mālatī, hareṇu, and tagara is the healing agent.
