3.78

gaṇārigaṇikāsatradhūrttānnāpaṇikañca na |

notsaṅge bhakṣayet bhakṣyān jalaṃ nāñjalinā pibet ||

kaṣāyayogān pūrvektān kṣīrekṣvādirasāplutān ||

Nor the food of an assembly, an enemy, a courtesan, a public charity, a rogue, or a merchant. / One should not eat snacks held in the lap, nor drink water with cupped hands. / [Therapeutic text intercalated: The decoction compounds stated earlier, blended with the juice of milk, sugarcane, and the like;]
