In a woman whose fetus is released from its attachment like a fruit from its stalk—due to excessive accumulation of doṣas, or due to aforesaid causes such as sexual intercourse, or due to other diseases, or due to previously accumulated karma of the mother and child—that fetus, freed from its attachment, passes beyond the uterus and, descending through the spaces between the liver, spleen, and intestines, causes agitation in the abdominal cavity.
