catuṣpāt vyantarān vidyodateṣāmeva saṅkarāt |
vyāmiśralakṣaṇāste hi sannipātaprakopaṇāḥ ||
One should know crossbreeds (vyantara) as four-footed, born from the intermixture of those very [types]; / for they possess mixed characteristics and provoke all three doṣas simultaneously.
