daṃśo maṇḍalināṃ soṣmā saśoṣaḥ pītalohitaḥ |

pṛthurvisarpadāhoṣākledakothairviśīryate ||

The bite of viperine snakes (maṇḍalin) has heat and burning pain, is yellowish-red,
spreads broadly, and sloughs off with burning, sensation of heat, exudation, and rotting;
