śīlavān matimān yukto dvijātirvedapāragaḥ |
prāṇibhiḥ pitṛvatpūjyaḥ prāṇācāryaḥ sa hi smṛtaḥ ||
One of good conduct, intelligent, attentive, twice-born, and master of the Veda— / he is to be honored by living beings like a father, for he is called a master of life.
