skin diseases, anemia, and head diseases; those born of Pāriyātra pacify the doṣas / and produce strength and virility; sea water aggravates the three doṣas. / Therefore, after pronouncing an unfavorable prognosis, one should treat a pierced bodily channel, / and, once the foreign body is extracted, according to the rule for fresh wounds. / The body becomes greenish-yellow, with red eyes and cheeks; / due to phlegm [arise] vomiting, nausea, drowsiness, urticaria, and heaviness of the limbs. / Wind, having obtained a hold [and] having dried up a vital spot, would quickly take away life. / Having aggravated [them], it removes the doṣa in small measure and would produce tenesmus. / Or with jīvaka, ṛṣabhaka, kṣīriṇī, bṛhatī, turmeric, the two aṃśumatīs, and liquorice; or with the two vidārīs, bamboo manna, raisins, liquorice, rāsnā, blue lotus, rhizomes, sweet flag, and the three pungents.
