ityatyantaprasiddhe 'pi siddhe sarvāgamairapi |
dṛṣṭe 'pyakālamaraṇe vicikitsetkathaṃ budhaḥ ||
anyathā hi vipatsu syāt paścāttāpendhanaṃ dhanam ||
Thus, since untimely death is exceedingly well-known, established by all scriptures, / and directly observed, how could a wise man doubt it? // Otherwise, in times of misfortune, wealth would be the fuel for remorse.
