śucitailadaśo dīpaḥ kīṭavātādyapīḍitaḥ |
dīptimān varttate samyak yathaivāsnehasaṅkṣayāt ||
yathopapatti tairmadyaṃ pātavyaṃ mātrayā hitam ||
A lamp with a clean wick and oil, untroubled by insects, wind, and the like, / burns brightly in a proper manner until the exhaustion of the oil, // wine should be drunk according to circumstance, in proper measure, wholesomely by them.
