Kāmpillaka prepared with buttermilk is incompatible; / a bearded vulture roasted on charcoal; / and surā liquor, kṛsarā gruel, and milk porridge together are incompatible. / There, from space, [the shadow] is spotless like a sword, azure like the sky, clear, unctuous, and having luster. / From vāta, it is dusty, ashen, dry, grey-red, dark, lackluster, and smelling of sweat and dirt. / From fire, it is red like an offering-fed flame, lightning, or molten gold, and pleasing to the eye. / From water, it is pure like beryl and sapphire, dense, and very unctuous. / From earth, it has a lovely sheen, is dense, stable, unctuous, pure, dark, and white. / Among these, the airy one leads to destruction and very great suffering; / but the remaining ones bring about happiness. / That has been declared earlier among the vital spots. / And even though its mouth faces downward, it is constantly filled with water from the sides like a new jar whose mouth is submerged in water, by the trickling of thousands of tiny openings called urine into the urine-carrying channels; and through those very channels, the vitiated doṣas, vāta and the rest, having entered the bladder, produce their respective obstructions and urinary disorders. / By combination with sharp and other qualities, it depends upon another poison.
