2.11
He incurs censure among the good and suffers death from the king.
In etiology, symptom, pacification, and non-recurrence of diseases—
Therefore, longing arises in her through them.
And so they call a woman with two hearts 'the woman with longing' [dauhṛdinī].
Others, however, say that the period of pregnancy longings begins from three fortnights and lasts up to the fifth month.
Dryness of the throat and lips, thirst, dry vomiting and cough, depression;
And having boiled a decoction of the two pañcamūlas, one should cook ghee,
Along with milk, and pasted grapes, medā, āmalaka, and pauṣkara;
In tender men, [this is] a harmless purgation.
Then, having unctuously and mildly purged her, one should treat her with enema therapies,
And with vāta-alleviating inunctions, sudations, poultices, and massages.
One should make the infant lick the powder of sarala, rāsnā, ajamodā, and devadāru with ghee,
Or ghee cooked with precisely such ingredients together with sugar.
