Accumulation, aggravation, and pacification of vāta occur in the three [seasons] beginning with summer;
but of pitta, in [those] beginning with the rainy season; and of śleṣman, in [those] beginning with late winter.

Having been purged upwards and downwards, when [the medicine] is digested, he should eat with the soup of wild animals.

Thus, after administration for six nights, this effectively destroys pitta, kapha, swelling, kuṣṭha, foul sinus ulcers, piles, anal fistula, impaired digestion, anemia, halīmaka, jaundice, irregular fever, and pain in the heart and bladder.

Alternately, a desire for heat and cold arises, accompanied by dulled hearing;
when ripe, it discharges thick pus that is white, dark, and red.
