svasthasyānnena vardhante dhātavaḥ śoṇitādayaḥ | vyādhitasyāpi doṣāya bhojyaṃ pariṇamaty atha ||

In a healthy person, the tissue elements such as blood and the rest increase through food; / but in a diseased person, food then transforms into a morbific entity.
