jvarasya sāmyaṃ vaiṣamyaṃ gātraṃ vā ślakṣṇakarkaśam | dṛṣṭvā spṛṣṭvāvagaccheddhi śaity amauṣṇyaṃ ca pāṇinā ||

The regularity or irregularity of fever, or whether the body is smooth or rough— / having seen and touched, he should indeed ascertain coldness and heat with his hand;
