vāme pārśvetvadhaḥ kukṣermuktvā ca caturaṅgulam | nābhyāṃ vā praṇayecchastraṃ mātrāyuktaṃ cikitsakaḥ ||
On the left side below the belly, leaving four finger-breadths, / or at the navel, the physician should apply the instrument in measured degree.
