bhakṣayenmodakān kāle kṣīrapānaṃ pibetpunaḥ | yakṣmāṇaṃ śamayantyete vṛkṣamindrāśaniryathā ||

One should eat the modakas at the proper time and drink a potion of milk afterwards; / these pacify consumption (yakṣman) just as Indra's thunderbolt does a tree.
