palikān modakān kṛtvā sthāpayenmṛṇmaye nave | aśnīyāttatpalaṃkalyaṃ sāyaṃ bhūyaḥpalaṃ naraḥ ||
Having made modakas of one pala each, one should store them in a new earthen jar; / a man should eat one pala of it in the morning, and again one pala in the evening.
