atikrāntarasaṃ vā 'api vipannarasameva vā /
jñeyaṃ vidhiviruddhaṃ tu bhujyate nibhṛte na yat /
tadevaṃvidhamannaṃ syādviruddhamupayojitam //
or whose taste has expired, or whose taste is spoiled; / but that should be known as incompatible through procedure which is not eaten in a secluded place. / Such food, when consumed, would be incompatible.
