lavaṇaṃ saindhavaṃ noṣṇamamlamāmalakaṃ tathā /
arkāguruguḍūcīnāṃ tiktānāmuṣṇamucyate //
Saindhava salt is not hot, and likewise the sour āmalaka [is not hot]; / arka, aguru, and guḍūcī, though bitter, are said to be hot.
