madhuraścāmlapākaśca vrīhiḥ pittakaro guruḥ/
bahumūtrapurīṣoṣmā tridoṣastveva pāṭalaḥ//
Vrīhi rice is sweet, sour in post-digestive effect, pitta-increasing, and heavy; / it generates abundant urine, feces, and heat; but the pāṭala variety indeed aggravates the three doṣas.
