visarge punarvāyavo nātirūkṣāḥ pravānti itare punarādāne somaścāvyāhatabalaḥ śiśirābhirbhābhirāpūrayañjagadāpyāyayati śaśvat ato visargaḥ saumyaḥ /

In the releasing period, moreover, winds blow that are not excessively dry, while the others [dry winds blow] in the debilitating period; and the moon, with unhindered strength, constantly nourishes the world, replenishing it with cool rays; hence the releasing period is lunar [in nature].
