The Compendium of Caraka 2.2.27

2.2.27

tatrāsādhyaṃ parityājyaṃ, yāpyaṃ yatnena yāpayet/
sādhyaṃ cāvahitaḥ siddhairbheṣajaiḥ sādhayedbhiṣak//

Among these, the incurable should be rejected; the manageable, one should sustain with effort;
and the curable, the attentive physician should cure with proven remedies.
