viṣamārambhamūlānāṃ liṅgamekaṃ jvaro mataḥ/
jvarasyaikasya cāpyekaḥ saṃtāpo liṅgamucyate//
Fever is considered a single symptom for diseases having irregular onset and roots; / and for fever alone, burning heat alone is declared to be the symptom.
