vikāraḥ prakṛtiścaiva dvayaṃ sarvaṃ samāsataḥ/
taddhetuvaśagaṃ hetorabhāvānnānuvartate//

Disease and normal state—everything, in short, is twofold; / it is subject to its cause, and in the absence of the cause it does not persist.
