ajalpannahasan tanmanā bhuñjīta; jalpato hasato 'anyamanaso vā bhuñjānasya ta eva hi doṣā bhavanti, ya evātidrutamaśnataḥ; tasmādajalpannahasaṃstanmanā bhuñjīta//

One should eat without talking, without laughing, and with a focused mind; for in one eating while talking, laughing, or absent-minded, there occur the very same faults as in one eating too fast; therefore, one should eat without talking, without laughing, and with a focused mind.
