trividhe tvasmin jñānasamudaye pūrvamāptopadeśājjñānaṃ, tataḥ pratyakṣānumānābhyāṃ parīkṣopapadyate/
In this threefold collection of knowledge, however, knowledge [comes] first from authoritative instruction; thereafter, examination is accomplished through direct perception and inference.
