athāhareti brūyāt---mūlakasarṣapalaśunakarañjaśirtumadhuśigrukharapuṣpābhūstṛṇasumukhasurasakuṣṭherakagaṇḍīrakālamālakaparṇāsakṣavakaphaṇijjhakāni sarvāṇyathavā yathālābhaṃ; tānyāhṛtānyabhisamīkṣya khaṇḍaśaśchedayitvā prakṣālya pānīyena suprakṣālitāyāṃ sthālyāṃ samāvāpya gomūtreṇārdhodakenābhiṣicya sādhayet satatamavaghaṭṭayan darvyā, *tamupayuktabhūyiṣṭhe 'ambhasi gataraseṣvauṣadheṣu sthālīmavatārya suparipūtaṃ kaṣāyaṃ sukhoṣṇaṃ madanaphalapippalīviḍaṅgakalkatailopahitaṃ svarjikālavaṇitamabhyāsicya bastau vidhivadāsthāpayedenaṃ; tathā 'arkālarkakuṭajāḍhakīkuṣṭhakaiḍaryakaṣāyeṇa vā, tathā śigrupīlukustumburukaṭukāsarṣapakaṣāyeṇa, tathā++āmalakaśṛṅgaveradāruharidrāpicumardakaṣāyeṇa madanaphalādisaṃyogasaṃpāditena, trivāraṃ saptarātraṃ vā++āsthāpayet//

"Then he should say, 'Bring radish, mustard, garlic, karañja, śigru, madhuśigru, kharapuṣpā, bhūstṛṇa, sumukha, surasā, kuṣṭha, erakā, gaṇḍīra, kālamālaka, parṇāsa, kṣavaka, and phaṇijjhadka, all of them or as available.' Having examined them when brought, cutting them into pieces, washing them with water, placing them in a thoroughly washed pot, pouring cow urine with half as much water, he should cook it while constantly stirring with a ladle; when the water is mostly used up and the essence of the medicinal drugs is extracted, removing the pot, he should pour the well-filtered, lukewarm decoction mixed with the paste of madanaphala, pippalī, and viḍaṅga, oil, and seasoned with svarjikā, into an enema apparatus and properly administer a non-unctuous enema to him; or likewise with a decoction of arka, alarka, kuṭaja, āḍhakī, kuṣṭha, and kaiḍarya; or likewise with a decoction of śigru, pīlu, kustumburu, kaṭukā, and sarṣapa; or likewise with a decoction of āmalaka, ginger, devadhāru, haridrā, and picumarda, prepared in combination with madanaphala and the others; he should administer the non-unctuous enema three times or for seven nights."
