kālasya pariṇāmena jarāmṛtyunimittajāḥ/
rogāḥ svābhāvikā dṛṣṭāḥ svabhāvo niṣpratikriyaḥ
nirdiṣṭaṃ daivaśabdena karma yat paurvadehikam/
hetustadapi kālena rogāṇāmupalabhyate//
Through the transformation of time, diseases born of the causes of old age and death / are seen to be natural; nature admits of no counter-action. / What karma from a previous body is designated by the word 'destiny': / that too is observed over time to be a cause of diseases.
