4.1.9

jñeyaṃ kṣetraṃ vinā pūrvaṃ kṣetrajñaḥ hi na yujyate/
kṣetraṃ ca yadi pūrvaṃ syāt kṣetrajñaḥ syādaśāśvataḥ//

For without the knowable field existing first, the knower of the field is not possible; / and if the field were prior, the knower of the field would be non-eternal.
